But oh gosh, remember the one where Eugene takes the Imagination Station to hell? Geez louise. I had a lot of the early ones, so I don't think I heard the infamous DnD episode. It's indoctrination disguised as entertainment. What are your thoughts on Adventures in Odyssey? "I am always right and you are not allowed to have any other opinions or perspectives on your faith or question anything" basically.Īlso, Eugene's conversion arc episodes were so painful to listen to. Whit to me is a problematic character and basically the way they paint him bothers me. The DnD episode was an example that bothered me a lot. Looking back, now as an Atheist, I've noticed Adventures in Odyssey has some.rather questionable messages. I even had the Adventures in Odyssey guidebook. I also used to watch the animated series on Saturday mornings on a Christian channel. I loved all that stuff and was taught back then that it was "evil". I wasnt allowed around certain media like Pokemon, Lord of The Rings, Digimon, or any anime of any kind at that time because it was considered "evil and demonic". They sent me a CD with a thank you letter. I even remember sending a letter to Focus on The Family with a drawing of Eugene after hearing my first episode. I got into and I really liked Eugene Meltsner as a character. Adventures in Odyssey was introduced to me by an ex family member when my dad got remarried in 2008.
